4. What are the JPJ regulations for car window tinting?
According to the 2021 JPJ Tint Rules, you can tint your car’s rear windshield and rear passenger windows as dark as you like. However, for safety reasons, the front windshield and front-side windows must meet minimum Visible Light Transmission (VLT) standards.
JPJ Tint Regulations:
- Front Windshield: 70% VLT or more
- Driver’s Side Windows: 50% VLT or more
- Passenger Side Windows & Rear Windshield: No minimum VLT (as dark as you want)
